Launched at the 2014 United Nations Climate Summit, the Compact of Mayors is the world’s largest coalition of city leaders addressing climate change by pledging to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, tracking their progress and preparing for the impacts of climate change. Learn more.

504 cities, representing 428,609,390 people worldwide and 5.92% of the total global population, have committed to the Compact of Mayors.

Commitments to the Compact of Mayors are set to deliver half of the global urban potential greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions available by 2020 but there is much more work to be done to fill the gap left by national pledges.
